Why we crave horror movies!
"Why we crave horror movies " is the title of an essay that i read in our practical guide to writing book and i couldn't agree more with the first sentence " I think we're all mentally ill; those of us outside the asylums only hide it a little better- and maybe not all that better, after all" Horror movies are one of my all time favourite things in life. There is nothing better then feeling your heart racing and palms sweating all because of a movie! Im this essay the writer compares a horror movie to a roller coaster which makes sense. Some people feel the same mixed emotions on a roller coaster as they do while watching a scary movie. Some people can confuse the feeling of fear and excitement, for me being scared is exciting I personally love not knowing what is to come and I get a sudden rush of excitement when my body is frozen with fear. I know people who feel the complete opposite when it come to horror movies they will try to avoid them at all coast. Fear isn't always a feeling people enjoy, in fact most people hate to feel scared because it also makes them feel vulnerable. When I watch a scary movie my fear ends when the movie ends, the fear doesn't follow me to bed at night, witch may be why I am pro horror movies. Those who fear horror films usually reframe form watching them because their fear follows them and they may not easy for them to forget about what they have seen or experience while watching the movie. There are so many scary movies to choose from there can me movies about ghost and paranormal activity, fictional monsters, and my favourite would have to be movies about cereal killers and murderers. The more real a movie seems to be the scarier it is!!!
